Hand and Machine Knitting

One-on-One Learning, Locally

I’m delighted to announce I’ve teamed up with Get Stitchin’ in Tulsa, Oklahoma for in-person hand and machine knitting classes! Not only does Get Stitchin’ have everything you could want (and more) for all things knitting, they regularly offer classes for all things fiber-related. Crochet, spinning, dyeing, weaving, cross-stitch, embroidery, felting… you’d be hard pressed to find another place that can offer as much to the fiber artist as Get Stitchin’!

Click here to view Get Stitchin’s current class line-up and sign up for a one-on-one machine knitting session with me!

If the machine knitting class you want isn’t on the schedule, contact me, and we’ll find a day that works for you!

I am not currently set up for Zoom Classes, but I hope to be sometime in the future.

Do you want to try machine knitting, but you aren’t sure it’s for you? Don’t worry! You can try before you buy on one of our machines!

Machine Knitting Classes

Class progression is tailored to each student. After we’ve covered the basics, we’ll build new skills with each new project. It’s your choice whether to try hand transferred lace or cables first!

Here are a few of my beginner classes!

Simple Washcloth with Pie Crust Edge

Starting from nothing?
This one’s for you! In this class you’ll learn knitting machine anatomy and setup along with a basic cast on, pushing the carriage, basic cast off, and a cute, frilly edging.

This class uses the mid-gauge SilverReed LK-150 machine, available for purchase through Get Stitchin’.

No machine? Use one of mine!

If you have a different type of knitting machine and don’t know how to use it; be sure to let us know you are bringing your machine and arrive 30 minutes early, so I can make sure it’s in good working order.

If it needs some love, don’t worry! I can help, and you can still learn using my machine. General knowledge transfers easily from machine to machine.

Panel Blanket

Ready to move on from a basic washcloth?
This one has some homework and reinforces what you learned in the first class.

Building on what you learned from the washcloth class, you’ll knit 5-7 panels, connect them using the latch tool, and finish off with the edging we learned in the washcloth class.

This class uses the mid-gauge SilverReed LK-150 machine, available for purchase through Get Stitchin’.

Mirror Cable Mitts

Now that you’re comfortable with the latch tool and picking up stitches with a transfer tool from the last class, let’s change things up a bit with some cables!

This class uses the mid-gauge SilverReed LK-150 machine, available for purchase through Get Stitchin’.

Let’s knit something beautiful together.
